Its an infection.

It sure is, and I get it every year, multiple times. Its as if its going out on purpose to get me. The problem is, not only do I get on my own, but I get it from other people as well. If I see someone going through it, I get it. If I speak with someone who has it, I get it. And worst one, is when said person (sometimes multiple persons) seek me out to be part of a collective that has it, because 9 out of 10 times, I will say "Yes please".

The infectious infection I'm talking about is "Creativity", get your mind out of the gutter :)
Last week I had a good week of music adventures, and it ended with a grand show in which I met new friends, got to see old friends, shared a stage with inspiring friends, and oh yes, picked up another infection, i.e. agreed to have a creative session which may lead into something sonically super awesome.
And I'm hoping that I can make that project a reality, but am a little apprehensive about it.

I bring this up because I think its a common problem among us creative folks, our brains see the world differently, and we can get inspired by the slightest of things, which often result into some cool creations.
For example, when I heard the word "Totem" for the first time, it just rang so beautifully in my ear, and I looked for its definition, and since then it has inspired two songs "Shukran My Totem" in my NOVELLA concept album, and "Totem Garden" which will be in my upcoming EP with talented friend Joe Scala.

Many people have told me how much they love my work, many have even called NOVELLA an Art Project, and I loved creating it. I would love to create more, and I DO have more ideas for other projects. Just the other day I was talking with a fellow artist about my Diaspora Love Story idea, and his jaw was on the floor, but I can't do all of this on my own, I need a team, a tribe, a city, a continent of support.

If you have enjoyed my work, if you truly do believe that what I'm doing is important to you, then I would encourage you to become an Art Lover. If you think you know someone who would also like to be part of this beautiful collective, I encourage you to find them and let them join us.

Its a new Era, there is no wall anymore between You & I. Many art lovers are in direct contact with their beloved artists, and even influence the work they do. You are the reason why I strive to create something new and inspiring, and I hope you are loving it as much as I'm loving creating it for you :)

Selenophilia

I love it when I learn new words, my new favorite one is Selenophilia.
You have no idea how excited I was to learn that this word existed! It basically means "A Love of the moon", which would make me a Selenophile "(n) a person who loves the moon".
How freakin cool is that!!?

I have always had a healthy obsession with the moon, I never knew why, and I never questioned it. I've just always found comfort in sitting or standing, and stare at the moon. It always clams me down.
In my desert culture, the Moon is used as a symbol of beauty many times, and as you may ha
ve heard in many of my songs, I use the moon quite often in my writing.

The cool thing is, I learned about this word, just as I had finished writing a new song called "Sahara Moon", of course. So this new exciting discovery lead me down a moonlight rabbit hole, and now I'm working on a 5 song EP of love songs that are moon themed.
Needless to say the word "Selenophilia" makes it …

Bandcamp \\ vs // Patreon

As you may have heard, Bandcamp has recently launched a "Subscription" service for their artist and their supporters. The main idea is for fans/supports of an artist, would "Subscribe" to him/her. By doing so the supporter would pay a monthly charge to the artist through Bandcamp, and in return they get 1st dibs on new songs, and even exclusive material.
The new music is automatically ready for streaming on your Bandcamp App, and you would even have the option to download it if you like. There is even an option to give Subscribers a discount on other merch, and you can of course make your whole back catalog available as well.

Patreon has been doing a similar thing for a while now, but with Patreon its open for more than just music. Its for "Artists" in general. And I have to say, I do tend to find more Webcomic and Digital Artists using Patreon. I also see a lot of Video content creators on there as well, and some "Audio" artist.

Closer to the moon

Great News friends.
I can officially say, that I have finished recording my "Lunaverse" album, woho. It took a while and I apologize, but a few things have come up on the way. I moved resting palces (but still in Baltimore area), I co-produced Janice B.'s latest album "Mantra" with Maurice of StinkyFace Music, I'm also learning some new Tech skills, like how to program in Python, and Web Development for a side project I'm working on.

Also I think I like this image to be used in some way for the album.
Its an photo taken of the Supermoon, from Baltimore, by my good friend Rob Hinkal of ilyAIMY , which I think appropriate since this moon album was created in Baltimore, it'll be a full circle type of thing.

Alright, I just wanted to share the good news with you all.
I'll be back soon with more updated.
Big hugs, and much love.

When you have a chance, go be creative today.
