Bandcamp \\ vs // Patreon

As you may have heard, Bandcamp has recently launched a "Subscription" service for their artist and their supporters. The main idea is for fans/supports of an artist, would "Subscribe" to him/her. By doing so the supporter would pay a monthly charge to the artist through Bandcamp, and in return they get 1st dibs on new songs, and even exclusive material.
The new music is automatically ready for streaming on your Bandcamp App, and you would even have the option to download it if you like. There is even an option to give Subscribers a discount on other merch, and you can of course make your whole back catalog available as well.

Patreon has been doing a similar thing for a while now, but with Patreon its open for more than just music. Its for "Artists" in general. And I have to say, I do tend to find more Webcomic and Digital Artists using Patreon. I also see a lot of Video content creators on there as well, and some "Audio" artist.

I'm sure there are people who are on #TeamPN or #TeamBC, I have to say. I've used Patreon, and though it is a great platform,  butI think its geared more towards visual artist. This Bandcamp Subscription service, seems to be very much more "music" oriented, which is what I do MORE of.
I create music, they start off as written, which I can easily scan as an image and post it up (if its on paper), but after that, everything goes into audio form.

The problem I ran into with Patreon, is that I can only upload a single audio file.
When I wanted to upload a full demo of 7 songs:
I had to create a zip folder, load it up to dropbox, then do a post on Patreon with a link to the dropbox.
For some one to get the audio:
They have to get to the post, go to the link on the page, download the zip folder, un-zip it, and then they would be able to listen to the full album.
That's just too inconvenient in my opinion

But with BandCamp, it is ALREADY set up for artist to upload their albums, and once I upload it, the supporter gets a notification, and on their app, they simply click play, and voila! the music streams.
That makes more sense to me, as an "Audio" artist.
If you want to find out MORE about it, here is the official bandcamp explanation.
Which team will you choose?  #TeamPN or #TeamBC?

I love it when I learn new words, my new favorite one is Selenophilia . You have no idea how excited I was to learn that this word existed! It basically means "A Love of the moon", which would make me a Selenophile "(n) a person who loves the moon". How freakin cool is that!!? Photo by: Johanna Grace / Edited by: Gela Ghaderi I have always had a healthy obsession with the moon, I never knew why, and I never questioned it. I've just always found comfort in sitting or standing, and stare at the moon. It always clams me down. In my desert culture, the Moon is used as a symbol of beauty many times, and as you may ha ve heard in many of my songs, I use the moon quite often in my writing. The cool thing is, I learned about this word, just as I had finished writing a new song called " Sahara Moon" , of course. So this new exciting discovery lead me down a moonlight rabbit hole, and now I'm working on a 5 song EP of love songs that are moon the

And its only February!

What an active Winter we've had. Two months in, and there is already bans against minorities, rejection of refugees, and a political cabinets being over run by spawns of hell themselves, all while a tiny tiny doll, who believes is a real person, stands and lies as if its his oxygen. Holy Crap. The so called president is Pinocchio. I will be doing a benefit concert in April, to help raise money for a lovely cause called "Henna With Love", that gives 100% of the money towards treatments for refugees. More on this will come. In the mean time, please be kind to each other. Much love Mosno
