Early Prep

Hello Friends,

 I was having a conversation with a fellow songwriter a couple of weeks ago, and he has started preparing for the upcoming FAWM friendly challenge. He is thinking of using AI as a collaborator with lyrics, which is actually a really neat idea.


I on the other hand am thinking about the physical tech that I want to use during recording. I have always been a fan of DIY (Do-It-Yourself) recordings, and I find the restraints to actually be very helpful in fueling creativity.


I tried to participate in FAWM earlier this year, I didn’t get far, but what I did get is an idea of how to approach the 2025. I took an older laptop that I had, installed Linux on it, was using Audacity as the main software to record the input. I still have that machine, and I think I will use it for this next FAWM as well.


Its going to be pretty cool, I have not decided if I too want to experiment with having an AI co-creator or not, but I’m a fan of the idea of using tools to help you make things better or fill in certain skills that you may not have. We shall see.

I love it when I learn new words, my new favorite one is Selenophilia . You have no idea how excited I was to learn that this word existed! It basically means "A Love of the moon", which would make me a Selenophile "(n) a person who loves the moon". How freakin cool is that!!? Songs of Selenophilia : Intro / Outro songs

The past few days Maurice Carroll  and I have been in the studio polishing up some of the tunes for my upcoming moon themed EP "Songs of Selenophilia". I am so excited you guys and gals, to me it feels like a mini Novella album with all the things we are doing. Today I'm going to talk about two songs, he song that starts the album "Sahara Moon", and the song that ends the album "Shortwave To The Moon". They are both similar yet different at the same time, and they both do their jobs beautifully. The intro song "Sahara Moon". I wanted this song to basically ease the listener into the album, to create a calm atmosphere and let them know they are about to go on a musical journey of some sorts. It generally starts with the sound of Desert Winds, and very gentle guitar and vocals, then slowly we introduce a little bit of trombone and piano, then BAM, beats galore to get you grooving in your seat.
